The practice
The rooms on Melikishvili Street
The practice began in a rented room above a notary, reading hotel books that treated last August as a law of nature. It still lives on the sixth floor, still argues with seasons, still refuses a forecast that only exists to look brave.
Modelmatrixpoint Analytics is a Batumi practice. The name is longer than the rooms. The work is shorter to describe: we sit with the figures a house already records and we write the months ahead in a form a director can take into a meeting without needing a translator for every axis.
Nino came to the work from hotel night audits on the boulevard — the hour after midnight when the occupancy board still lied about tomorrow. Giorgi spent years in a warehouse behind the port, counting bags that arrived on a different day than the invoice. Tamar set type for a small Adjara weekly before she began drawing charts that had to survive being photocopied.
We are not a laboratory and we do not keep a secret method. The method is slow reading, named drivers, three scenarios, and a pack that can be held. Clients are hotels, traders, shops, and a few family houses whose summer has to pay a winter. Most of them are within a day’s travel of Melikishvili Street. A few send books from Kutaisi or the hills and come once for the reading.
What we will not do is as useful as what we will. We will not put a growth line on a page because a lender asked for one. We will not hide a wet July inside an annual average. We will not take a fee to decorate a decision that has already been taken in a kitchen.
If that sounds like the kind of stubbornness you want at the table, file a brief. The address is still Level 6, 43 Melikishvili Street, Batumi 6000, and the telephone is still answered by a person who can put you through to the desk.
